Thornberry  Woods community is located in the city of Vaughan.  It is in the quadrant of Dufferin St. to the east and goes west of Keele St.  It is located south from Dufferin St. and goes north to Major Mackenzie Dr.  This community is still under construction and was started around 2009.  The main street through the subdivision is Peter Rupert. 

Thornberry Woods community is comprised of single family homes including  townhouses, semi-detached houses and detached homes.  Currently there are no condominiums in the area.  The houses range in size from just over 1000 sq. ft. and go up from there.  The prices start at the mid to late $650,000. and go up from there.

The community has a lot of young family and young newly married couples.  It is made up of middle to upper income families.  This community is just starting to grow.  The location is very interesting because it is located on the cusp of Maple to the west, Richmond Hill to the north, and Thornhill to the south.  This makes the community very multi cultural.  It is located just minutes north of Steeles Ave. and the city of Toronto.  It is also conveniently located minutes to highway 7 and the 407.

Presently there is an Elemanary school: Dr.Roberta Bondar Public School and a Catholic school: St. Joan of Arc C.H.S. The other children are being bussed to community schools.

The shopping in the area is located at the corner of Bathurst St. and Rutherford Rd.  In this location there are strip shopping plazas on both the northwest and southwest corners and also the northeast corner.  The two locations on the west side are larger with grocery chains as well as, drugstores, liquor stores, banks, nail salons and more.  All the locations have numerous restaurants.  There are also large shopping plazas conveniently located at Dufferin St. and Major Mackenzie Rd. on both the north east corner and the south west corner.  These plazas also have major grocery stores, banks, drugstores shops of all sorts, including restaurants and fast food chains.

Within a few minutes drive there is Vaughan Mills Shopping outlet located at Jane St, and Rutherford Rd.  At Bathurst St. and Center St. there is the Promenade Mall.  Both Centerpoint Mall, Hillcrest Mall and Yorkdale Shopping Center are also just a short drive away.
